Wheel cleaning is perhaps everybody’s least favorite detailing task to do, particularly when you own cars that produce a tremendous amount of brake dust (Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc).
To make the wheel cleaning and maintenance processes much easier, we apply durable coatings to our wheels and calipers. Since the coating doesn’t allow brake dust to stick to the surface as easily, there’s much less effort involved in the cleanup process.
Here we coat a set of HRE P101 performance wheels with Gyeon Mohs+, and take it out to the race track for testing and evaluation. As you will see in the video, there’s not much effort required during cleanup.
Gotta say, coating my rims this year (used Gyeon Q2 Rim: http://www.esotericcarcare.com/gyeon-q2-rim/ ) as well as tires ( Gyeon Q2 Tire http://www.esotericcarcare.com/gyeon-q2-tire/ ) took away *the* most arduous task in washing/maintaining our vehicles. What used to be a time consuming, towel-killing task is now easily accomplished with a quick spray down, usually with just a hose. No more trying to reach the calipers or barrels of wheels, no more nasty chemicals to dissolve the brake dust/grime. Additionally, the appearance of the rims takes on a glass-like appearance if on painted/clear coated wheels. Have it on chrome wheels as well and is likewise magnificent with respect to looks/maintenance.
Absolute maintenance dream since coating…and no more grimy towels to deal with; my dedicated wheel-cleaning materials now come out with barely a smudge of black on them after simple hose down.
Freshen up the wheels with a quick Gyeon Cure wipedown ( http://www.esotericcarcare.com/gyeon-q2-cure/ ) every month or so and wheel cleaning no longer a dreaded task.
Definitely worth the time and effort to clean/apply…
I’m glad to hear it has worked out so well for you…thank you for sharing your experience!
